I've gone back to using 06 OEM as there's very little price difference to the Lucky Hands now

I’ve wondered what gives over time when using the Lucky Hands gear. I mean if the standard but improved 06 phosphor bronze gear in my XB was shagged after 35k, what will eventually happen to the gear drive it ran against when rubbing against a super hard steel job.......having to replace the main gear shaft?

35k is really good IMO. I thought the improved gear was Beryllium Bronze. No matter, the later XBs, I may be wrong, the '08, got a new pump design that works better and lasts longer. I never owned an XB so I may likely not know what the fuck I'm talking about.

However, I often wondered if an XB12 engine could retrofit into a tube frame. There's lots of good reasons to want the XB improvements, mainly the oiling system, better crank and heads and better DDFI. The only thing not an improvement IMO was getting rid of the trap door. You can keep the rest of the XB.

Well, the Ulysses was pretty cool. I'd have bought one if it was a tube frame.

Seen a couple of XB engined tubers on BWB, they looked good and have certain performance attractions. Reading the write ups, they always seem to had no end of trouble in making it work, not sure why as it looks like it should pretty much drop in.

Well I said 'phosphor' but I don't know. I bought the 06 after reading that this gear item was improved over the 05......as well as the gearbox, crank, swingarm......etc, etc.
