My 2005 Uly has started cutting out when I accelerate hard, if I'm cruising along at 60 ish and open it up quite quickly the engine cuts out. I pull over and stop, turn the ignition off and after about 30 seconds I turn it back on and the engine fires up as if nothing had happened with no warning lights on. Can anyone help me get to the bottom this please?

I've heard there's potentially a problem with the seat pressing down on the ECM, I've run the bike with the seat off and given the ECM connectors a good wiggle but I couldn't replicate the fault.

I think it's the grey connector that gets crushed as the weight of the seat & rider push down on it
so you may not get the same result wiggling it .
check HT leads as they can chaff through

With the grey connector, I would of thought that if this was the case then going over a bump or dip in the road that put more positive G force on rider and seat would have same results , just my thought could be wrong
Also fuel pump wiring on early xb’s was a known problem area that resulting in cutting out, also remember something about wiring loom around the headstock area .
If you have ECMSPY try and get a log of the ride and cutting out . the likes of Pash and Gunter are the ECMSPY experts who may be able to interpret the data to find problem area along with our oracle of knowledge and master of all thing Buell
