Kia Ora. Ride a 2006 XB12R. Had it for 3 years and 25,000km now. First bike after returning to bikes after a 20 year absence. Love it.

Welcome Pal, pull up a chair

Like Digger I would love to live there, a couple of friends of mine emigrated about 4 years ago to the south island and say its a complete change of pace, life etc ... wouldn't dream of coming back here!

Welcome to the site mate. :yup:
My wife was a resident of New Zealand, and was holidaying in the UK when we met. She never went back, and her residency expired. She often takes the opportunity to thank me for this :P

Hello and welcome, top place NZ, is the bike test as ludicrously easy as the car test used to be out there, and the drivers are totally nuts, are the bikers the same or are they even more hardout. V jealous in my opiniun the only place more beautiful than my native Snowdonia is New Zealand and you've got more sheep :headbang:

Yeah, I know Graham. Thin bloke with glasses?
Yes, all drivers are complete morons and you can still get your license at just 15. Madness.
Bugger the sheep. No I didn't mean to say that.
Nah, it's red ... like a Firebolt.
Didn't we do well in the World Cup. I mean us, not you.
Great welcome fellas. Thanks.

Welcome.
Where abouts do you live in NZ? I have a friend who lives in Mount Maunganui, except for the next three weeks when he's staying with us. I've been over 3 times and it's just as good as everybody else has said. Next time I'm going to hire a bike unless I can persuade my mate to get one.

Hello River, welcome to the mad house. I used to live in Christchurch; a few moons back, worked on the ferrys between the Islands as an engineer on the " MV Aritika", a great old boat now defunk I expect. Good roads over there on par with Scotland though less pot holes, enjoy :)

I live in Auckland. Sandy beaches, pohutakawas, One Tree Hill, blue Waitemata Harbour. Favourite rides: Highway 16 to Welsford via 2,000 corners on a Sunday morning. Or the 100kms out the Seabird Coast to Kaiawa to pick up some fresh snapper fillets for a summer BBQ. Or take the day and do the Coromandel Peninsula loop. Buell Heaven. Have I made you two homesick yet?
