Hi all

Having bought a new (09) 1125r last month I find myself on the interweb looking for info on it! Found this site and all registered now, thought I would stop by and say Hi :)

Was new unregistered when I got it and soon to go in for first service, which will see a slightly wider rev range coming into play, which will be very welcome!

Anyway, off to clean it, covered in fly splats for now.

Willie

Hiya! Recommend you take note of this forum's recommended best places to take the bike for servicing. Some take better care than others.
Sounds like you are enjoying using that fairing to reduce the insect population... better than using your teeth! :D

Yes, this is the second 1125r I bought, the 1st dealer dropped my bike on the PDI the day before I was due to pick it up...... Lets say it might not be going there for it's 1st service, after I was quoted 4-6 weeks for for a lever and a mirror on the dropped one. Oh and there was a few other bits too. Was still interested in it but they had a take it or leave it attitude. Wait for the bits and nothing doing on the price either, said it would be repaired as new.

Someone will be buying it "as new" but not quite!

I eventually got another one from Oxford 3 weeks later, Darren was pretty good in there, but he left the same week I picked mine up.

So will certainly be looking to see where the best option for servicing is.

If the bike didn't come via B/Bear or MchrHD, then I'd check the coolant level, if you haven't already.

Enjoy the bike :yup:

Welcome ! 8-)

As Adam said - best to check the fluids to make sure that they're at the correct levels - they seem to ship the bikes light from the factory and it's up to the dealer to top them off - but some dealers don't !

Also, if you're handy with bikes then it's also worthwhile making sure that the axles have been sufficiently copper greased - had a puncture in my rear tyre recently and couldn't get the wheel out as the axle was seized - and this was after 3 months ...

So, what year bike did you get ? It's always helpful to know !

I have an 09 spec bike built in Oct-08 and registered May-10, laughing as I type that lot but pretty sure those numbers will be familiar to most here.

if Thames Valley hadn't dropped the 1st one it would have been a Dec-09, sh!t happens...

Reasonably handy with a spanner, have 1 ZZR1100 (95 D3) left in the garage after selling one (99 D7) to make some space (and stop the nagging) bought it 4 years ago as a route back into biking having seen a BuellXB12 Lightning, Black with orange wheels, just looked and sound very diffferent, go past me on the M40 one night and thought WTF was that. some googling later I found out and always thought about getting one.

Now I have lOl

I doubt that it was a Dec 09 - the factory was closed by then ! Perhaps it was a Dec 08 ?

TVHD is my local - never had a problem with them, maybe it helps to make friends there !

Understand that you are sometimes in Hemel - not a million miles from me if you ever get stuck ...

Good spot yes, Dec-08 of course :)

Girlfriend lives in Bovingdon, and I worked in Chesham for 8 years in Schwarz Pharma at the end of East Street.

Small world indeed
