Hi, I'm a long time Buell fan but haven't owned one in a while, just got a '98 S1 which I rescued from a rotten existence. Here's a few photos. I'm interested in learning more about these bikes. Thanks!!

Is that what it looked like when you rescued it from it's "rotten" existence :?:

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Unfortunately, no I do not have any before pics, but the bike was pretty close to what you see in the pics now, just very dirty and in pieces. I was at a memorial for a high-school friend who passed unexpectedly and another friend saw me holding my helmet and mentioned he had a Buell and would consider selling it. I made a joking comment that now that Harley dropped Buell, it probably isn't worth but $1,500 and he said "heck I'll take $1,500 for it" and the rest is history. When I finally went to see it, it had been sitting on a patio for 4 years, partially covered, but getting rained on and slowly corroding. The carb was in pieces in a box and he had failed to stuff anything into the intake manifold, so even buying it was a big gamble since I didn't know if the motor was still good.
I had a hard time getting the carb dialed in, but it's all sorted out now. It has a "Force" exhaust and Forcewinder intake, thunderjet kit, aftermarket front pulley cover, and a few other nice features. I also picked up a twin tail and a Manta fuel tank, so I need to decide which set to run and which to sell.

It's absolutely beautiful here today (finally) so I'm headed out for a nice long ride.

Nice bike, welcome to the Club. Don't sell any of the spares, they are like rocking horse shit. You never know when you may need them. ;)

Welcome Brian. This a good forum to join, loads of info, banter and general piss taking. Don't be too sensitive, it's in good fun.
Northern California.....lovely......my sister and brother-in-law live near Los Gatos. Next time I get out there I'll be on his bike for ride along Skyline Boulevard.

Cheers, Richard.

Very nice bike.

If you go the twin tail route I'd like the single tail and seat.
