Well hello everyone! :uhoh:

I've just bought an 1125R off forum member pash. Haven't actually picked it up yet, but should be getting it at the weekend. I'm far too excited for words!!

I live on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire/Staffordshire borders in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Are there any members in the east/west Midlands who fancy meeting up and going out for a spin?

I live with my ZX6R riding girlfriend, and we're both doing physics PhDs at Loughborough university.

The warmer weather's getting closer, and I just can't wait to get out there and do some miles!

Anyway, that's me.

Fozberry

Welcome. Never worry about bungling your spelling cos you will soon be put straight on here.
UKBEG comes with it's own spell check.

Pash's old bike was reportedly one of the smoothest, except they aren't supposed to be smooth they're Buells :D

Once you've both done your Phds we'll be expecting answers to all sorts of questions about everything; oh hang on we already get that :yup:
Enjoy the bike and forum.

aye up me duck.
well ive got that out the way - its my feeble attempt at the east mids lingo. i live about 30 miles from you in brownhills but work at least 1 day a week by you at stephenson college in coalville. i to have just brought a 1125r after selling me zx6 and you may just hear me occassionly go through the back of tamworth, no mans heath, measham, ashby then into work.
any way when the weather gets better we will have to meet up.
as a note of interest the college in coalville has a group of bikers who go out occassionly ( all welcome) i know that they are planning a ride out to skegness in march, meeting up at mcdonalds of junction 13 a42 by you.
i will keep you posted, martin

Gah! Bloody east mids expressions! I've only lived round here a few years and you won't hear me talking like that (and if you do, you have permission to kill me)

How are you finding it? Collecting mine at the weekend - can't wait!!

I'm up for that. I'll give you a shout if I go on any rideouts too.

Incidentally, since you're close, what are you doing on 7th March? There's a load of bikes and cars meeting up at Donington park in an attempt to bring some attention and maybe help save the track. See http://www.savedonington.co.uk/ for details. I'll be riding there with a few local friends, and if you fancy meeting up, it'd be great to meet a fellow 1125 owner!

To everyone else whose welcomed me, many thanks. It's nice to meet such a friendly group.

fozberry. my 1125r was collected in december and i am still running it in due to crap weather. i have ridden a few before ( mainly round mallory on buell experience days) and that was the reason i wanted one ( and the price!). my last bike before this was a zx6, so it was hard to get back into a big v twin - i have had an aprilla mile and a vfr before. what i do like about the 1125r is its prety comftable, plenty fast enough and a looker ( mine has the lower fairing and gets a lot of looks and questions).
deftinetly have to sort something out when weather better and i will try and get up donnington ( happy memories) in march.
be lucky, mart.
p.s your right about the east mids inbred lingo - i am the token brummie at the college in coalville and i cant understand a word there on about - mind you they aint got a clue wot i am on about as well
