White or silver would be great. It may show the dirt quickly but it will look really ACE!! :yup:

Is the place in Pontefract NB Coatings?
?[/quote]

It is NB Coatings. Word of warning, they will tell you they blast back to metal first, but they didnt on my wheels, actually I wasnt too happy with the entire job but since I sent them all the way from Wales there was little I could do.

There were shadows where the black original colour could be seen through the candy gold, they even sprayed over a bit of the backing of the old balance weights, pretty shoddy really.

Im sure if you live local so that you could ask for them to be redone in the event you arent happy it would be fine. You must understand, the wheels looked ok but close inspection left much to be desired. £45 per wheel is cheap by the way.

One last thing, they leave all the masking on the wheel, you have to take it off yourself, its very easy to chip the new coating whilst doing so.

Thanks for the info patkin but youre not making this decision any easier.
There are 4 powdercoaters in my area and I too have heard mixed reports about NB, but none of the others could match the colour.
Lamo, whats the answer to the question that rik asked about your whereabouts? If youre near enough I may be calling in on you.

I take it powder coating isn't going to chip like paint? I'm still thinking black with a gold pin stripe and assume that pin stripes, even fat ones, are going to have to be painted on.

Good to have been directed to this post though. Thanks yorkshirelad.

Think I'll have the wheels off and visit bike paints in Fife.

Anyone recommend a front paddock stand?

When you are on the webpage that you want to link to, right click on the address bar at the top of the page and select copy......then right click while posting your message here and select paste and it'll leave the link ;)

Bike Paints in Fife want £180 plus vat to PC the wheels black with the pin stripe - not to every ones taste I know - charged additionally based on the painters time.

The wheels need to be delivered minus tyres and baring races...
