:worthy: Really beautiful work ! - the wire wheels add that real bit of class ( especially with the ZTL rotor - never seen that before ? )

Thanks all-

All of the custom parts i designed and machined myself, from the rearsets, handlebar button switches, taillight, etc, all the way to the rear drive pulley. Also made the tubular tail section and hand laid up the seat cowl as well as all the paint work and powdercoating. Its a fun never ending project :D

Wheels are Alpina 36 spoke tubeless XB wheels. I originally had OEM XB wheels on it. XB ZTL2 front brake and EBR front rotor. Brembo RCS front masters and Brembo rear master with 4 piston rear caliper.

Impressive rearsets, quite a radical position. Not sure I could manage doing big miles with them.

its actually quite comfortable. I originally made a less aggressive rearset and found they were not back and up far enough.

I really, really, really like it. Great work! 8-)

How long have you had the Alpina wheels?

Alpina STS were stock on my Guzzi Stelvio NTX. Had a handful of leaky spokes in my first month of ownership. Luckily, my stealer had some nipple repair kits. I was a couple weeks away from a mega-trip so I was pretty stressed out about not being able to go. Glad he had enough on the shelf. My Park bicycle truing stand will handle adv bike sized wheels so I was able to do this myself. Done plenty of H-D wheels on them in the past. It handles up to 160 wide and will do larger than a 21" MC wheel, so a 17 X 4.25 rim was no biggie.

I've had LSL rearsets on my X1 that others thought would be uncomfortable. 2" up and 4" back, IIRC. Bought them to go club racing but when that was done, they stayed on. Took the X1 to Alaska and never felt unfortable. I have a new set for my latest X1 as well.

I have had the Alpina wheels for about 6 months now. So far so good.

working on a new triple tree design at the moment. Since i am using XB triples with my XB forks, i lose a lot of steering radius do to the different offset of the XB bikes. My new triples will be for XB forks, but with the Tuber offset.

Nice job with CAD and good choice to go to 1 1/8" bars. Such a better selection of bends and available a every dirt bike shop on every corner.

Want to throw an idea at you if you have the equipment to do so or the need. I had a set of Pro-Tapers on my Honda CRF450X similar to the ones in the link. The bar clamps were adjustable fore and aft (+/- 10mm) via slots instead of a basic hole. The serrations gave a positive lockdown every 2,5mm. I gave up the rubber mount inserts but I desired a more forward biased ergo.

On my X1, with the LSL rearsets, I was using the Crossroads bars which were lower and further forward. Allowed my body weight to balance well with the wind resistance. So maybe you might like a more forward bias too or the option.
