Looking for a heat shield that shields the rear cylinder area. I've seen two types fitted so far but none to an X1...the larger of the two standard types looks effective but will consider owt. Scorchio

I'm sure the solution can be found in wrapping exhaust bandage around the right leg.

You ride it.....think its the exhaust heat mostly....the guards I have seen fit from the fastener on the right hand frame bracing at the rear of the tank and go back to the tube running down the side of the oil tank.
One is only abot 40-50mm deep, the other is about twice that...they look to be made of plastic or carbon fiber.

I would use exhaust wrap but I don't like it.

Somebody must have one lying around

Big ones are off M2's and the small from S1's......they're supposed to shield the rear rockerbox but dont and everyone takes them off.
Dont think either would fit an X1 and even if they did, cant see it making any difference :? ......reckon you'll have to HTFU :)

Just had a root round in the garage and found the one off my S1. It's a foul thing and if you think you can make it fit you can have for the price of the postage it'll come with P clip that fits the frame rail. Let me know.....Dave H
