Maybe it is still there, give them a call...

Check if it is taxed, or insured on DVLA and MID sites, that will give you an indication that it is in the UK (or someone hasn't put a private plate on it).

Anyway, your bike is still insured... And it is taxed until 28th Feb 2014...

Assume it is still in the UK...

Have you fallen out with him?

BTW, have you got a copy of the old registration document? With the reference number, you could look to see where the last MOT was carried out, maybe give them a call and see if they know the bike and the owner...
