Rode up to the NEC for the Bike Show on the Uly today 8-) (Good to meet up with you, Pash and Cooter) What an awesome bit of kit, does everything I want of it and includes handguards and heated grips to keep me comfortable. Good mix of dry roads and floods and it took everything in it's stride. As it was dark and drizzly I opted for the M42 and M40 on the way home and it dealt perfectly with white lining through 15 miles of stationary traffic as well without having to put a foot down once.

:yt: apart from meeting myself. Uly performed great. Got a bit windy on the M5 but still tanked on.

I got to the front of the stationary traffic, a four car pile up on the M5 just north of Strensham, typical case of travelling too close to each other said LAPD, "three fools that broke the two second rule" who seemed to feel some connection to me as I had my reflective jacket on. Had to wait about an hour and a half watching three fire engines arrive to fill one of the car fuel tanks with foam then have a chat. Nobody seriously injured.

Good to see Robin, Dunko (and Mrs Dunko) and Battyone (on the way home). Sorry I couldn't hang out longer.

Yeah - I luv the utility of the Uly. I can dress it up for touring, trips out with my nipper, commuting or naked for a blast. Under no illusions that it is something of a pretender - next to a GS it looks decidedly flimsy but I don't see me heading out across the Urals any time soon. I like twisty tarmac and that's where it excels.
Different to the Firebolt which was focussed soley on legging it down the black stuff, no holds barred. Couldn't help but go faster and faster every time I took it out. That's one of the reasons I sold it. I lack the moral fibre to behave and, as much as I enjoyed my trips out, I always came back conflicted, knowing that I really should have behaved (It'll all end in tears etc.)
Not entirely sure what a grumbly might be but suspect I have one at home :)

Damn - so that's a grumbly!
Sold mine out for a quiet life with plug. Best looking bike I ever saw - from any angle. Made up that I had one for a spell.
Can't wait to see what the alternative grumblies might be :D
