Hi Everyone

After spending the last 5 years in the motorcycle industry being responsible for sales for a major manufacturer I took redundancy and started working from our large garage at home with my son (a fully qualified motorcycle mechanic) servicing mainly Harley, Buell and Ducati machines but also other brands, plus a little bit of buying and selling.

It has been really good but we needed more space and more of a commitment so I have started “SE Motorcycles” and open our new workshop near Sevenoaks on 1st March.

Sadly my lovely wife died suddenly and unexpectedly recently so we have been a bit delayed but will be fully open for March.

Ride safe!

Steve
:P

Hi, please understand that whilst I do run a small business, I am an enthusiast also!

We do not see many Buells as they tend to be out numbered by many of the other brands we cover, so I would not anticipate a significant commercial gain if any at all, but none the less we genuinely like to help and advise riders wherever possible, and support forums as best as we can.

I have just parted company with my Firebolt as I needed some cash for the business....but I will be sneaking another Buell in to the collection very soon!

Check out our website as it will tell you more about us and what we do.

You make a very fair point about seeking approval for the post and I apologise for a genuine error.

Hope we can offer help where needed.

Ride safe!

Steve

Welcome Steve, thanks for introducing yourself, many on here don't just have Buells so you may come in handy for local types. :yup:

Hi Maz

Sorry for the late reply, I have had to sort out some stuff on my wife's estate over the last few days, so been off line.....been a bit distressed as I am sure you can appreciate.

We have both industry and technical experience spanning well over 10 years.

My background is mechanical but in more recent years I have held very senior management roles in the motorcycle industry for a major manufacturer. Naturally, this has allowed me to see sales and service good, bad and ugly across all brands! What this experience has given us is good industry knowledge and great contacts in many places that can be very useful to both of us (you and SE Motorcycles) from time to time, and the knowledge of how service should be offered.

As far as Harley and Buell are concerned we have many years experience (including all the relevant training) from fully franchised dealers and independent service centres.

Our general approach to upgrades outside manufacture OEM parts tends to be OEM is best...albeit under certain circumstances. We all know that over time products emerge that can be better than OEM and often cost less than OEM but sometimes more. I suppose ultimately it is down to personal choice, and what the upgrade is intended to offer over and above OEM parts.

We have all done it...I have done it, I have non OEM parts on my current bike and I think think they are great, do they make me stop, go, and ride better on the road? I am not sure...they look good though!

I am sure this sounds like a bit of a political response, but we do work with the individual and their needs and expectations, and budget.

We have ridden just about every V Twin Harley including many custom bikes and trikes, and just about every Buell. I have just sold my 2007 Firebolt as I needed some cash for the business....but there will be one back in the garage as soon as possible.

Anyway time to sign off, and say we will help wherever we can.

Steve

Find the problems , here goes as a numpty. Belt tension,, Air box to rotate 180 degrees for knee clearance,, (if you can do that with that type),, clearance to tank with hand controls ( may be the picture),, Old style battery position ,, check header and silencer mounts and I`d defiantly check the engine front isolator bolts ( mine were almost hand tight :oooops: ) Bet there's loads of other things in the flesh.

I'd probably take a more conciliatory approach ;)
