Sometimes when I turn the key, nothing happens. Turn it off and on again and everything clicks into life (idiot lights, fuel pump, etc). It's getting more and more frequent. I assume either the switch itself, or an electronic part, is on it's last legs, can anyone narrow it down, so I can order a new one

I would check the keyswitch first, can you take it apart, inspect and clean it ? Although in your part of the world sand may be getting into it and wearing it out prematurely ...

... I would also check the wiring going into the switch.


Also - how old is the key - if it's worn out then I suppose that could cause problems possibly, do you have a spare you can try ?
