Hi guy's & girls
This is my first post on Uk Buell Enthusiasts site.
I live in Fleet, Hampshire Uk. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a 1125R, well I actully swoped it for a 883 Harely sportster.
It is the first time I have owned a Buell although I have been a huge fan of them for years.
Im very impresed with the 1125R, it's power and handling is amazing.
I have already had to replace the battery. I brought an otimate 3 and, once connected it would run a test and keep coming up as Red. This turned out to be a dodgy cell in the battery. But all is good now and seems to be running good.
From reading posts on this site there seems to be a common problem with the charging systems?? Mine appears to be ok, hope it stays that way!!
One issue I have noticed is a noise from the gear box or engine? it sounds like a "whining" noise when going down the gears ( in the lower gears). Has anyone else experienced this??
The only mod I have done so far is stuck some "Stomp grips on the tank" think its worked out good.
I am at present moding a rear paddock stand which i brought from ebay. I didnt want to spend £100 + on a Harris stand (although they are made well).
Ill post some pics soon once i have finnished if any one is interested??

It's an 08 model so the charging system should be OK......water pump and clutch will be issues though :)

As :maz: said, the charging system should be OK as it's an 08 model, but I would recommend that you always use the kill switch as some 08s' suffered from a parasitic drain on the battery and the output from the 08 stator is marginal so use the optimate regularly - the stator was changed on 09s' to a higher output - these are the troublesome ones ...

And don't worry too much about odd noises, the Helicon engine does rattle a bit !

... and welcome by the way ! 8-) :) :D

Thanks for the welcome.
My Buell is a 59 09 plate buell by the way.
I have the optimate pluged in over night so should keep the battery toped up.
There was a mention about water pump & clutch problems?? I have not heard about this one?
Also can anyone explain how to show the gear change and voltage on the dash display.
Any help would be great, cheers :D

Dude, trust me - that's a 2008 bike, no matter what the registration says ...

the 25th Anniversary model with the blue frame was only made as a 2008 Model.

May make a difference if you need to order parts.
