No, but all Buell's are enthusiasts bikes - some give no/little trouble - some seem to be a nightmare for their owners.

But I do think that some people have a more laid back attitude than others - IMNSHO people coming from a Japanese riding culture do seem to get more "agitated" ...

And the CR is a great bike, the bike Norrie is selling is from the last production run so will have the latest upgrades.

I love my CR and the more miles I clock up the better it gets - but I also own an R too so I must be a glutton for punishment, if you believe some opinions.

A lot of the problem is getting spares and repairs done quickly - HD have lost interest, along with most of their dealers ... :x

Oh, and welcome !

Welcome to the asylum.
We get 3 cooked meals a day.
The nurses are OK, if a little hairy.
The beds are comfy but the straps can dig-in in if you struggle.
Visitors alternate weekends only.
You get used to it, we call it home now.
:D

Hmmm sounds a bit hit and miss. I've currently got a 2008 BMW R1200 GS Adventure and the reason i'm selling that is due to reliability paranoia. I have three Aprilia's so you would have thought I'd have got over it by now. Is there anywhere on the site that gives independent reviews on the bike and are the specs listed anywhere?

Thanks for the welcome!

So, what exactly interested you in joining UKBEG, you dont ride, dont have a bike (or any gear). Of all the millions of forums on the internet, why pick an obscure brand of motorcycle and its humble forum to suddenly join and jump straight into banter on ... ?

You have posted nout about yourself in way of any sort of hello or introduction either ...

Dal, ask specific questions and I can give specific answers, in the past there have been members on here that have taken no notice of sage advice from those experienced in Buell related topics, and there are others that have already made up their minds, regardless of what they are told ...

I have owned a total of 4 buells and have loved them all - the 1125 models being the best of them all IMO, but there have been others that have done nothing but whinge from the moment they started posting on this site.

To be honest, if I could only have one bike (I don't own a car, bikes are my only transport), then a Buell would not be my first choice - purely due to the horror stories that get posted on Buell forums ! Trouble is, if I have a problem, I have other bikes to choose from, so it isn't really an issue to me. My CR has not yet left me stranded except for punctures, and you cannot blame the marque for that - having said that there are known problems with these models that will probably occur at some point, the clutch leak is the most common, but it shouldn't leave you stranded as long as you check the bike regularly, it's just an inconvenience whilst it is being repaired, although Erik Buell Racing may have come up with a solution. The biggest perceived problem is the stator, which has been known to fail, but coming from an Aprilia background you may well be aware of the issue, the Mille suffered the same malaise ...
