What problems did you have?

Noticed when I got it the tit who fitted it failed to seal the joint/s between the can/downpipes properly. I've got definate air ingress through the gaps. I dont mind a bit of popping on the overun but its obscene atm. Looks pretty well put together compared to the OE Buell race system I had on my 9.

Well... The joints pulled apart no matter how tight you did the clamps, the front mount on the can snapped off 3 times, and half of the pipe dropped off as I was going down the road, 1 of the middle sections, and slid down between then chin spoiler and engine and scraped against the road lol

Oh and it pulled the pipe out of the flange that fits it to the front cylinder.

Are those pics of the standard internals? Never had mine apart but I had a look through it and mine didn't have that crossover bit?

Anyway good luck with it, it is a very nice sounding pipe! I however got fed up of it and now have standard headers with an Albert pipe made to look like the micron, and it sounds even better!

Yes, the tips were cut back since one was damaged prior to it my repairs. The guy bought the pipe via the internet I guess, and it was rattling a LOT when it showed up in the box. You could tell both of the perforated pipes had broken away inside. He sent it to me based on the work he had seen. Essentially, I had to re-weld everything inside it. There was only 1 of the 4 welds holding the crossover to the front flange, none were more than 3/4" long from the factory. I welded pretty much all the way around them to seal it. Lots of blow-by out the front end of the muffler was one of the give-aways that it wasn't put together all that well.

I only did the one repair since I knew it wasn't being made any longer and the guy really wanted the pipe done right. Normally I won't fix other mfg's pipes unless they're out of business. I have enough work as it is without getting into repairs, but the micron seemed like it might be worth fixing. I know what's inside now, which gives me a pretty good idea of how it made power. Mostly it's the total primary length and the hydroformed tubing that maintains a constant ID throughout the pipe. Once it got to the muffler, it kinda goes to crap though.

Here's my normal stuff.

He's gonna love seeing that one.

I don't know who's been doing these longer, but I think he does exhaust systems full time (on cars?), I don't. Either way, thanks for the compliment.
