Sadly, I have to agree Steve. A superb machine spoiled by this kind of oversight. Is having it on the road for one Summer too much to ask? Last year I was shafted by the leaking water pump

And the last itme you had a car with a leaking water pump was :?: Truly pathetic by Rotax/Buell I'm afraid. Commiserations all the same.

I had to replace one on my SAAB once - but it had done 250k miles lOl

But I think, not many "pulled out" clutches there, most are "pushed", and probably this might be one of the reasons. My SV1000 was known for clutch cylinder failures too, as the cylinder was sitting in front of the sprocket, catching a lot of dirt, but when Suzuki updated it with a dirt protective gasket, the problem was fixed.

Tin hat on + ready for the piss taking. Remember, this is just a very rough mock up, done on Sunday evening and put on hold until last night when the 10X1mm nuts for the release pin, arrived off BeGay. It works, with a hefty pull on the clutch lever but the 6mm dural base plate bends where the cable enters and ruins the mechanical advantage. I'll try it with some 10mm plate (I think I know where I can blag some from ;) lOl )
The final version will look a bit prettier than this ;)

Sweet Jesus!!

Looks like something I would build! :hehe:

Thanks Colin, that's very kind of you 8-) Although the manual conversion worked ok, I'm not going to bother with a carefully made MK11 which would look a little tidyer (if that's possible  lOl ) because Blackrag has a chum at a well known parts manufacturer and the've examined my clutch parts under x400 mag. They're currently 'on the case' of building a more reliable hydraulic slave. These things take time, but when they're done, they'll send it to me to road test.
If anyone can break it, I can

While they're at it - see if they can find a decent solution for a tuber (even an XB) conversion. I know there are other options but .......

My little ss750 had a "pull" slave. They hardly fail! Ducati too!

Fingers crossed on the break through.

Made by Brembo? There was one made for older guzzis - That was a pull too.
