Last night was a thoroughly enjoyable evening shared with Jane, my little bruv Tony, and William from UKBEG. Steve Parrish is a genuinely funny guy and he certainly has many stories to tell about his motorcycle and truck racing careers, and, of course, his close friendship with Barry Sheene.
My very first experience of live motorcycle racing was the 1976 Transatlantic Race at Mallory Park. I was fortunate enough to see all the main riders in action, including Kenny Roberts and Barry Sheene. Listening to Steve describe events around that time brought it all back to me - was it really almost 35 years

ago?
Steve also gave a fascinating insight to the modern Moto GP set-up and what the changes planned for the 2012 season will mean for racers and fans alike.
If you ever have the chance to attend one of Steve Parrish's evening talks I recommend you do so - you won't be disappointed.
