Hi Chaps,

well after a painless transaction, I am now the proud owner of a 8,000 mile 1998 S1 lightening strike (black/grey)

tis quite different to the X1 I used to have :D

(see norm - told you I'd get another... just took me a while!! Also don't tell lorna yet, I'll get her out on hers if it kills me!)

Anyhoo I'm picking her up on friday! Yippee!

Chris

I know :)

Wanted one ever since I sold the X1 in 2003

This one is low mileage, has the full racekit and a comfy seat! - also has the recall paperwork and had all the engine seals replaced in may!

now all I need is an X1 swingarm, upgraded front brakes, bring the bars up and back a bit (shortass me) and all the other bits Maz is going to persuade me I need

Was it this one?

Very nice I would imagine it took a lot of folding to get him to pull the auction. I reckon it was going to go for over £4500 at least.

That's the puppy, been after one for ages :worthy:

She's been serviced at Thames Valley HD. I've got a load of recall paperwork which I will be wading through on Saturday. From memory there was not one for the tensioner - so will be checking this before taking her out.

So list of things to do:
Tensioner
US gearing
Isolators and AST shock
Upgrade front brake
Higher bars (up and back) Any recommendations?

Maybes...
Polished X1 swingarm
PM Wheels (yes I know they are poo but I love em)

anything else?

[edited to add to list]
