Don't worry, its not one of those usual "how do you fit"..."what if not"...kind of questions... Just bought a FS tensioner. Looks similar to the usual-  BUT, mine looks older. No machined out pulley mounts and a plain silver spring  Anyway, question to all you brains out there (XB or not…) am I being too concerned, or will it fit as well as a 'new' or modern unit? Queue  ?

Not that it necessarily makes it bad, it might work just as well as the FS one. But if it was sold as a Free Spirits tensioner, it doesn't look right. |

One well known auction site. Paid around £60 +P&P. It's been on a bike before. Has marks on the mounting points and slight scuffs on the back. Dunno if it needs modding for more movement though? |

Looks cool... Follow the instructions and see how you get on. The important things are: 1. Ensuring the outer face of the inside fork does not does not touch the exhaust band when pushed down by the belt (I have seen TWO FS tensioners fitted "following the How To" that were not spaced from the engine with the two washers, one of which was seized in place) - 10mm washers in the How To. 2. Re aligning the wheel as much as possible towards the cntre of the belt - 8mm washer in the How To. |

Can you take a picture of the inside of the fork? I am interested to know if the inside is flat or is raised at the interface with the tensioner wheel... |

Its flat pash. All the way across. The scuffs are 2/3 of the way along. I'm going to fit it during the week. Just want to make sure I get the belt tension right on the refit
