Got either a missing or snapped exhaust stud so need to find out which it is so need to rotate the engine but am a bit uneasy about trying it, also could a loose exhaust at the cylinder head cause the bike to run really rough (not tickover and run on 1 cylinder under 3000rpm?) or is that another problem somewhere?

Bugger just realised I put this in the wrong section

IMHO the rotating of the engine is no great issue, I have just done it and am a virtual novice where mechanics are concerned. I downloaded the service manual from buellxb.com. I took my time and followed the instructions, all went well....... The header studs on the other hand were a complete f'in b£&@?rd but I'm not bitter  and all is now well.
Defo recommend the service manual though
