Maths is not my strongpoint, and I apologise that this request is not for Buell, but as I know there are racers and ex-racers here, I hope you might help. My CBR 600 race bike requires maximum acceleration and not top speed for the circuit I am using it on. The sprockets that I have availalble are: 14 and 15 tooth front 46 and 47 tooth rear Which combination would be best? Cheers |

Big front / little rear is for max speed Little front / big rear is for max acceleration HOWEVER you may find some combinations better for some tracks cos of the gear you get left in at the exit of some corners. Changing gear costs time. |

get a note book and write down what settings/gearing works best for you on each track and then just look in book and off you go. takes a time to do but as long as you keep the same bike will save lots of time and farting about ![]() |

Cheers 14-47 will be the lowest combination(more revs, less top end) then 14-46, then 15-47 & 15-46 the highest gear To calculate the ratio of a combination, divide the No of teeth on the rear by the No of teeth on the front, the higher the figure the lower the gear,IE 14/47=3.357 to 1 |
