It may well be oil/water vapour being expelled. Have you changed your engine oil recently?

no, nothing except ecm,k&n and exhaust. when changed all these bits i already had breather mod and had it started couple time while waiting for ecmspy cable and it never smoked to me. today i have done TPS reset, ajusted rpm on warm engine and while standing still noticed that smoke/steam coming out breather filter. today in Brum was just 6deg C and very misty/wet air. maybe this was an issue?

I shouldn't worry about it, maybe just water vapour in the oil boiling off. I would ditch the filter cos it may clog and then over-pressure the crank cases and then blow a seal (or give you frost on your top lip :hehe: ). Many people like filters. I had a Buell with a filter on the breather, it was blocked (but you couldn't see it) and oil was blown out between the oil pump gasket and the crank case...

here's my joy. bottom hose goes from breathers down to catch can, then up to filter and top one from filter goes back into airbox as insurance in case filter gets blocked. only one thing i'm still thinking leave insurance hose in original hole inside air element, or reroute it just to airbox outside air element? any advise?

Not from me regarding breathers, my XB is stock and my S1 dribbles on the floor near the exhaust... I am a low maintenance type of guy. If I used a catch can I would have to empty it. I hope to use a catch can a fellow mod gave me in the summer when I take the S1 hillclimbing...
