Just picked up 1125R,rode home on motorway,when I rode local roads found very bad running under 4000rpm. I will ring my dealer tomorrow,but if anyone can comment on some details from my birth certificate that seem wrong?
the idle was at 1574rpm (value high status), the idle stepper was on 110 steps (should be 15 to 55 so value high) the set idle was on 1510rpm (manual gives 1250rpm nominal). Can anyone give the readings from there birth certificate ?
can the HD digi tech set the idle rpm ?
Any advice I can pass on to my dealer,as they are not that experianced on the 1125.

who's your dealer ?

Do a serch on here, chassis number explained, as on bed wetter bikers.

Hi, when i say birth certificate ( thats what it is actually titled !) i am talking about the print out givern of running data from there plug in computor at the pre delivery check. My dealer is the foundry canterbury.
This is a new 09 model.
UPDATE....ok with some more miles on the clock my 1125r is running better,still would like to know what readings others have on there Digital technician print out ?
especially 1) Set idle rpm 2) Idle control valve steps 3) Actual idle rpm

If you're used to riding an air cooled V-twin then you will need to learn to "ride" the engine differently - it really does need to be revved higher in every gear to get the best out of it - it will lug the engine if you try to ride it in too high a gear at low revs ...

Hi,I have a TL1000s and partxd my sportster883r so I had an idea of how it should be,but believe me it was bad. Good news I have put more miles on now and it has become much better, I also tightened some slack from the throttle cables and I am enjoying riding it now. :) Still like to know others Set Idle etc ?

I hate to sound like I am from BadWeb, but I just had that new flash done. I thought the bike was quite pleasant before, but it really is better now, much nicer to ride at low revs...

Better try the ecmread software that extended data is copied too. I do not like programming based on assumptions. Let's hope it's a BUE2D now ...

Mine is a limited edition Erik Buell Signature Model (08) and had the M3HUS062.

The flash for the 09R is M3HUS142.

Thanks, I did try and ask what flash it had when I picked it up,they said they will plug the comp in and tell me at the 600mile service,so I will check then,as well as try and find out why the idle is set high.

DDFI-3 has an idle rpm setpoint table, well, in fact, it has two different ones, but I can't tell you which will be the valid one. The new firmware has a load of configuration bytes that control such kind of behaviour in various situations. Worst of all, even the content of the logfile changes depending on the configuration, but this isn't mirrored in the logged data themself, so you have to *know* when watching a log. Working with DDFI-3 is no real joy because of that.

Is M3HUS062 the correct current flash for the 08 model with the 25th aniversary plaque on the yolks?

Yes, do you have a limited edition Erik Buell signature model too?

(yoke not yolk - they are for eggs not motorbikes)
