.
My s1w has a Mikuni HSR42 carb, the petrol is really pissing out of the float bowl over flow pipe.
Its had this carb for 10 yrs and ive never noticed the overflow pipe being even wet.
So when you turn on the petrol tap unless you fire it up quick fuel flows at a pretty fast drip from the overflow pipe. It still drips slowly with engine running.
It also drips for a while after killing the engine and closing the petrol tap.
The tank has just been stripped and sealed and on putting it back i checked the petrol tap and all ok

Could there be a blockage in the carb somewhere that is causing this.
Its a bit worrying because wherever you park it there is always a crowd of buell lickers slavering over it often with lit cigaretes
Any ideas much appreciated.

Debris from the tank has propped the float valve open.
You'll need to clean this and the fuel line and then fit an in-line filter.

:yt: When it floods, have you tried giving the float bowl a sharp tap with a screwdriver handle etc. This often cures a sticky needle valve on Brit bikes. Amals are also prone to doing this - regularly.
