never heard of them , but i would google it race plugs in a road application , i tried Buell race plugs in my XBR many moons ago
never found any difference, other than they cost more

I had just bought a set of NGK Iridium plugs off Ebay for my 1125r when a set of Brisks came up a day later for a great price. Anyone had experience of either, if I'm gonna change them, it's going to be once simply because of the hassle. Anyone got any advice applicable to either set of plugs? I'm gonna spend a month with the 1125r on sorn & get the oil & filter changed, Front brake pads, plugs & Drive belt, remove the solenoid & probably some other bits as well. Any advice or tricks/what to look out for would be great. Thanks in advance folks. Paul. |

Adverts mainly & some weird test that didn't really show much. The Brisk plugs have four earthing nodes, just thought they may be less likely to foul? I've used Iridium's before & they're great so may just stick with them. As for rotating the Flippin' engine, Jesus! That's a design flaw if ever I saw one. |

Ebay, guy still has one left, they're the F model & have been replaced by the G, but they're new & mine has 10 thou + & it was jerky as shit before I got the ECM sorted. So it's gonna be better. Looks like its from that guy Sean that did 12k valve clearances, incorrectly... gave up and broke bike up. Sad really but I think he went into the engine 3 or more times to try and fix it, that would be frustrating. Me, I'd just use that 40+ hours, do some overtime, then pay a professional to do clearances...I'm a simple guy though me

Jazzbutcher, in my 08 1125r I use NGK CR9EKB plugs ( £7.42p each from the Green Spark plug co. ) and have no issues, good starting/clean running. There is no need to rotate the engine to change plugs but it is tight doing them ! My bike had not had the plugs changed in TEN YEARS, so getting them undone was a pain...the previous owner managed 3200 ( 3K) miles in all that time ! It won`t take you long to do, so don`t worry about trying different plug types ( within the correct heat range.) and let me know if you need advice. I hope that helps, have fun and good luck ! Alastair. Hi Alister, Yeah been looking on you tube re getting the plugs out, does seem fiddly but easier than trying to rotate the engine no doubt. I've got both a pair of NGK Iridum & the Brisk plugs so I'll use both over the next year or so anyway, once I've changed them I'll be more confident next time. Both are meant to be better than standard plugs, but we shall see. Got all the parts ready to go now so can set a really good maintenance re-start point, so just waiting till the end of Jan (Tax) & I'll get on with it, in the meantime there are rides to be had ha ha.
