Its pretty easy to do, just follow the guide in the workshop manual if you have one.
Air wrench and large socket (1 and 3/4" I think) to get the pulley retaining nut off: slim socket to get at the switch: then follow the manuals torque procedure (new nut required) exactly.
Job done, a nice wee green light appears every time you are in neutral gear.
Smiles and handshakes all round.
Result.
You spend the £70 or so a dealer would charge on sweeties or something.

 Before you replace it leave the bike in gear when not in use - freed mine up 4 years ago and its been fine since.

Just check it's not a bad connection to the switch before dismantling anything ;) ;) mine was :)

yea I have earthed the connector to get the light shining, but will try a wire from switch into conector.
the removal sounds iffy to me , not having airwrench etc , i have seen on badweb a small modified socket , anybody done this?

Chris - I have done this without removing the front pulley and I posted the picture of the modified socket on Badweb. I did this to change the switch on my '06 Ulysses. I have no idea of the relative clearance issues with other models I'm afraid.

If you remove the rear wheel and belt and use a 5/8" socket ground down to miss the edge of the pulley it will allow you to undo the neutral switch very easily. I was lazy and only ground down about a third of the circumference.

This is only held in by half a dozen threads and the manual indicates the torque is 60-84 inch-pounds.

PM me if you need any further info.
