Ok I’ve bled brakes on all sorts of bikes and cars before now without any trouble but I have just replaced the front reservoir and overhauled the caliper and cannot get the slightest amount of pressure at the lever. I pumped it slowly and got the usual little air bubbles. Now there are no more air bubbles, still no pressure. I have loosened both top and bottom banjos and seen a slight leak of fluid before retightening them and pumping again until air bubbles gone. Still no pressure at the lever. Any ideas on this one anyone?. |

I find bleeding brakes so relaxing. Here’s my tip: Bleed screw tight Reservoir cover off Pull the lever in slowly Watch the bubbles Repeat Watch the bubbles Repeat Keep going until you get a feeling of pressure At this point, you can either start bleeding normally or put a cable tie on the lever and grip and leave the lever under pressure overnight, when you release it, lots of bubbles will float to the surface. Then bleed as normal... |

Try releasing the master cylinder from the handle bars &lowering it below the level of the calliper or drawing through from the bleed nipple with a syringe |

Thanks guys. I tried Nuttah’s way and sucked the fluid through from the bleed nipple. That worked perfectly. ![]() ![]() |

You should be using 5.1, especially if running sintered pads, which you should be ![]() |
