Hello new to forum i have very poor tickover afv is 150 when i reset to 100 hardly runs at ol tps has been reset changed intake seals for new ones any one got any info much appreciated

What is your TPS at throttle closed and TPS at throttle wide open? What is the O2 output at idle? What is the EGO Correction at idle? What is the Inlet Air Temperature? What is the Engine Temperature? Is your fuel pump working? Is the engine standard? |

Buell X1 standard engine with race ecu race header pipes . TPS is 0% closed and 85% fully open , ego correction 150 degrees at idle , air temp- 19 degrees fuel pump seems ok .Can't find o2 output . The bike ticks over at 1000 rpm with tps at 0 % is this ok? At tuning guide spec it ticks over at 2000 rpm

X1 with a race ecm should show between 5.8 and 6.2 degress with an idle of around 1050 rpm. |

Surely there would be a reading, as you would have wound in the idle adjuster to make the bike run. Reset tps to 0 with the bike not running, then wind in to reach Maz's magic tick over reading. Or have i missed something?

When the throttle plate is fully closed, (sticky to open) it is 0%, nothing, closed. The 5% is the amount the throttle plate is open at idle. 2 checks to do: 1. With the engine running, spray WD40 carefully and ONLY around the throttle body to cylinder head joints. If the engine speed changes, usually rising, then the seals are leaking. 2. Carry out the TPS 'HARD' RESET in the 'How To' section. If your sensor needs PHYSICALLY resetting TO the throttle body, this will also give you a lean situation, as the TPS is not telling the ECU to add enough fuel, no matter how many times you do the electronic TPS reset. e.g. If your throttle body is open 10% the TPS is running behind, only asking for 3% fuel, not the required 10%. I hope that make sense.

Have done tps hard reset bike is running loads better afv has dropped to 142 after 10 miles will it keep dropping just thought i would mention front cylinder plug is very black and sooty rear is lean could this be a contributing factor thanks for your help imuch appriciated

Still seems to be something wrong, I dont think the AFV is going to keep dropping, it should have sorted itself out within a few miles. Did you follow the "How To" for the normal TPS reset? Did you reset the TPS with the throttle stop screw all the way out? |

yes but did not fully grasb the concept of turning tps body while bolts were in should it turn somehow when bolts are in or does it rely on play in bolt holes? |
