I had a remus stainless exhaust fitted by riders bristol under waranty ( i had to contribute) 13 months later it snapped the front mounts off - it was replaced under remus warranty (maz saw the pics) - it did take a while tho'. was out this weekend and sure enough it had snapped the front mounts again and was blowing 12 months later. I am sure i could have pissed about with riders/remus decided to strip off and take to work - the boys die pened it and i could not believe the cracks in it, it is only 1 yr old  has anybody else had issues with the remus or is it just me?
ps it was welded up for me tidy

all the best

Buells have been exterminating aftermarket race exhausts since aftermarket race exhausts have been available and fitted to Buells. It's a common problem.
I have a 1998 S1WL, and it came with a Vance & Hines carbon exhaust fitted (the standard exhaust came in a box). The Vance & Hines didn't last 12 months before the front mount sheared off. It's the vibes (man). Them race exhausts are made of lighter thinner stuff and can't handle the stress over a long period of time. I found the best cure was to braze the join (gas weld with brass) where the mount meets the pipe, as the softer brass metal absorbs the vibes and wont shatter.

Hope that helps,
fred

it's dye pen ;)

I guess there is no requirement for crack detection at the factory.

A weld failed inside the tail pipe on my 1125 Remus pipe. Remus have yet to reply to me how they made this Micro weld. As for the baffle that consequently blew out, they didn't want to know :tosser:
