Went for short run on bike today, left bike ticking over for few minutes went to ride off bike started misfiring and not revving then died. Have spark at leads pulled fuel pipe off no fuel coming out also noticed interactive exhaust motor does not make a noise and low fuel warning lamp does not come on when you put the ignition on not sure if it does when you put the key in? Have fuel in tank engine warning light comes on for a few seconds when turned on which should be normal does not flash not sure if fuel pump has packed up or Race ECU kaput. Noticed dirty connectors going to fuel pump have cleaned im sure it must be something more than the fuel pump. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |

Some XB buell had a recall for the fuel cap or pipe I think, could it be yours, if so has yours bin done? caused the motor to splutter and cut out. |

Fuse? Chafed/broken wires? Run fuel pump test. |

Engine check light goes off after 4 seconds then comes back on and stays so I know i have a fault. Changed the race ECM for standard one. The exhaust servo started moving, still would not start had one misfire plugs dry and sparking had a sniff of the Race ECM smells of electrical burning. Fuel light does not come on and no noise from fuel pump wondered if bank angle sensor could cause a problem did do a long wheelie 5 minutes before it packed up. Wondered if the diode would cause the problem or thinking of swapping relays around what do you think? |

If all fuses are okay and the fuel pump does not run at key-on, then check if the fuel pump will run if the BN/Y wire is grounded. Switched ignition is provided by the GY cable. Swap ignition relay with start relay to check (but as the starter works and it' sparking too ...). |

Good news. The ECM seems mostly okay and the fuel pump also. Next check the full length fuel pump cable. Pull the BN/Y wire from the black plug (pin #3) at the ECM. If grounded the fuel pump is expected to run just as before, but probably won't do, if the cable is broken. If the pump works when the cable is connected to ground outside the ECM, but not with the cable installed in the plug, then check all the black ground wires from the black plug for continuity to ground next. These should show 0 ohms resistance. |
