Anyone know the spring weight for a standard 1125 rear shock??

Need a softer/lighter one for racing, but haven't a clue as to what standard is.

Have you got a local suspension shop that might have the kit to measure it for you ......or even diy doable as you're only measuring an amount of deflection at a given weight ;)

Measure the wire diameter, coil internal diameter and length between the coils. There must be an online tool for calculating spring rate. Failing that, Ronnie may be able to help. I have some equations somewhere to do the calcs...

Where will you buy your spring from? Take the old one with you...

Or use:

http://easycalculation.com/physics/clas ... g-Rate.php

http://www.efunda.com/DesignStandards/s ... signer.cfm

etc. etc.

Had hoped I could source a new spring online, obviously reasonably simple if you know exactly what you have to start with. But the 2nd online calculator looks pretty good even explains how to count the number of coils. :)

Did consider the bathroom scales on the pillar drill, works ok on clutch and valve springs but not so sure about suspension :rotfl: could get messy

Cheers gents.

It's a funny shock :o loads of damping available but even with the long arm I'm on minimum preload.

Have you tried searching Badweatherbikers ? The merkins may know.

Or you could try emailing EBR - they may well give you the information ...

... I wonder if the springs they sell for their Showa upgrade shock are compatible ?

Or if different models use different springs?
