whats the lube plug for oil or liquid grease and if oil is gl4or5 ok or ep 80 i have liquid grease at work

Are you still selling the lube plug and is that the mod you made to replace the seal. If not could I just change the OEM seal every time I lube the bearing.

Ok so a new seal and oil. How much oil does it need.

Do what SM said it is all explained there.
Look at it as proventative medicine. If you can not get to then just do one of the temp mods above. only use HD transmission oil and only need 5ml every 2.5k
and fit a FS tensioner to reduce the load on the box. Job done!

The 'cut and stick' method I use, also recommended to me by Maz as an option, only costs me bit of clear silicon sealant every time (which you can just pull away with your fingers at service time). Although the 'designer' plug with the nipple is slick and is less hassle.

well ive drilled a tiny hole and injected some gear oil in for now and siliconed the hole up so shes back on da road . goin to get oil seal off maz asap with nipple as it makes for a better job but for now at least ive lubed it .

Why do Buell recommend this this then?

The cutaway diagram on the same page suggests that, once the seal is removed the bore would be big enough to get your little finger in. I was just wondering why, when Buell suggest using grease, UKBEG suggests using oil. Surely a good wipe of grease would stay in the bearings longer than oil?
Anyway, mines done about 5,000 miles without being serviced so the bike's prob'ly a write-off anyway

Of course it's big enough for your finger, but in situ, it has a shaft in it. Surely you're not suggesting that an XB owner completely strips their motor to grease the bearings
A smear of grease may be fine for assembly but I really wouldn't want it finding its way back to my clutch.
