Hey, Kim

Greetings, welcome etc. Just noticed your location. We've an office in Hbg, which is currently about 50m from the HD/B dealers there although we'll be moving in the new year.

I'll let you know next time I'm out that way, I'll stand you a coffee. 8-)

Ohh.. did not know that :). I only live about a 5 minutes ride with the bike from our HD/B dealer so thats great if you got an office there to :). Will be looking forward to this :)

And thank you for your greetings :)

Sounds like the sidestand switch is working OK as putting stand up allows the bike to start........more likely a problem with the neutral switch and the bike thinking it's in gear ....if so pulling the clutch in will allow it to start but if you start to let clutch out with stand down it'll cut out again.
Other possibility i think is a faulty diode but Maz will confirm ;)

My bike is working as it shall again :d. I did as you said and checked the diodes. They looked ok but i tried as suggested and switched them around and tadaaaa... the bike is back on track and is working as it should so now i can have the bike running with the side stand down. Have bought a new battery to that i´m charing over the night so will replace the old battery tomorrow, but am really confident that the problem with the machine-gun starter-motor will be solved with the new battery because tonight the bike sounded really tired when it tried to start.

Thanks for all the good and fast help :).

/Kim

Glad to be able to help 8-) possibly a bad connection on the diode then .
Good to hear that it's working now though.............and like you say i'm sure a new battery will cure the machine gun :D

Hi Kimi
keep an eye on your battery and engine earth contacts as folk have stated they can cause a few problems if not 100%

will keep an eye on the charging system, but don´t think there is a problem with it. Just found out today that the previous owner before the store where i bought it from haven´t had the bike in traffic for 3 years so if he hasn´t charged the battery from time to time during those years then i think thats why the battery i replaced is ruined.

But will keep an on it.
