Bike is 2006 XB12S Lightning.
:?:
I have a slight break in my outer covering on my clutch cable right at the bottom where it comes out from the chin spoiler.
Consequently i appear to have gear oil weeping from it.
Is this possible ?
If so is a new clutch cable required.
Must i drain the gearbox in order to change the cable.
I can't really understand why there is oil in the cable at all, surely ther is a seal where it goes into the gearbox cover. :?:

Thanks Dave

Perfectly normal.....a new cable will sort this.
Cable can be changed without draining the trans but the bike must be vertical ie. on a paddock stand.

Thanks for the very quick reply Maz.
I'd better order one from Black Bear then.
Roughly how much.
How does the oil get into there in the first place.
I have it on a paddock stand at the moment, anything in particular to watch for when changing or is it straight forward to do ?
Thanks again.
Dave.
