Starter issues

Postby gusm2 » Thu Mar 02, 2023 7:04 pm

As I mentioned in an earlier post I've been fettling the bike in readiness for the start of the race season, then just last weekend when I tried to start it I was only getting the dreaded clicking from the solenoid a bit of digging into it and I discovered the terminals inside were completely goosed. A quick browse on eBay and I found a repair kit for less than twenty quid and delivered a couple of days later.
Fitted it last night and it's now spinning over like it should again 8-)
So hopefully I might be out next weekend fingers crossed 🤞🏻

P.s forgot to mention I had a go at cleaning the terminals first and it sort of tried but still no good

Thanks Gordon, I've just changed the starter on mine for similar reasons. Probably pretty similar mech I'm guessing, so a good starting point for me to look at. Thanks again.
Good lick if you get some runs in.
Paul.
