Thank you for that reply :yup: I just wish that supplying dealers would stock some of the parts that are virtually guaranteed to fail (ie clutch seals on 1125s,stators etc).If there is a known issue with some thing, why do we have to wait 6 plus weeks for the parts? A service bulletin should almost be an indication to stock said prts or have them readily available??

Excuse my ignorance Ash but what does this mean and what does constitute spam?

Thanks for that Allan......still cant understand why good parts are thrown in a skip before any last effort has been made to profit from them ie. publish a list and a price for bulk purchase.

I have a stand coming from the USA now, thanks anyway ;)

.....and if the EDC had supplied the stand I ordered, that they have in stock, then they would've sold ONE stand in the last 3 years.

As it is now, they will throw it into a skip and I have to wait for the USA to supply the same item.......crazy :headbang:

I have a quickie question.

Does 'parts' also include items such as luggage, grips, etc. or would those come under 'accessories'?

US suppliers seem able to get them but I can't here in the UK. I keep hitting blank walls.

It's wonderful to hear that the clock hasn't started ticking on parts but where is the best place to get them?

I split the topic so Alans reply is not in a separate thread that I have stickied!

IIRC if it's classed by Buell as an accessory then the only things still being sold are old stock - no more accessories are being made. So if there's something you really want then you may have to buy it from the States before stocks dry up. If it came fitted to a bike from the factory then it should be classified as a part and should still be available to order.

I was chatting to a couple of HD dealers in the US the other evening and they were receiving stock of 'accessories' from HD still.

A very mixed picture then.

Its not appropriate to comment on the contracts we have with our dealers, so simply to say, the above is not the case.

Regarding H-D going to the wall, H-D were making motorcycles before the light bulb was invented, before the Wright brothers took the flight flight, before the telephone was invented. The company has survived the Great Depression and Two World Wars and countless other wars. This blip is nothing compared to all of that!

Ah, but Keith Wandell wasn't at the helm then ...
