Hi all
I am going to look at a CR 1125 at the weekend. It's a 59 plate and just wanted to know what to look out for and ask about. Cheers Dave

As it's a 59 plate it could be either an 09 or a 10 model - less likely to be a 10 model but you never know ! If it has an oil sight glass to the front of the engine ( right hand side ) then it's a 10 model - also the rear light will have a clear lens as it's an LED and the rear indicators will be bulb type ( not LED ).

As for things to check - make sure that the front brake hose goes round the outside of the fork, not down the inside of the fork between the fork and the front fender ( a definite no no, it's a recall ).
Ask if the stator wiring loom upgrade has been done.
Also some early 09 models had a problem with the cam chain tensioner - this should also have been done.
If you can get the VIN then an HD dealer should be able to check it for any outstanding recalls or "improvements".

As for general things - make sure the rear indicators are working as the LED ones are a bit "iffy" - although the later ones ( with a grey seal ) are better. The fronts don't seem to be a problem, I've not heard of any failures. Apart from that it's just general Buell things - condition of the wheel bearings etc.

My STT was one of those Academy bikes.

It's fine - got a full service after, new tyres etc.
Had it for 2 years and the only issues I've had were collapsed rear wheel bearing at 2000 miles and the stator dying at 6000.

You're going to get a warranty with it if it's a late 2009 - you'll have about a year.
Have a look at the V5 - mine says the previous owner was Harley Davidson UK, UK Event Bike.

If it's this one -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2008-BUELL-1125-C ... 1e5f72e073

then take everything they say with a pinch of salt as they know jack, CR models didn't start until 2009 - and this from a Harley dealer. :oooops:

I know what you're saying .....but.............it was registered in 2008 ....imagine how you'd feel if you bought a vehicle and then later on found it had been registered a year earlier than you thought.

But surely it is better to say that it's a 2009 model on a 58 plate ?
