2007 STT with a Remus/K&N filter - I like the sound (and little flame!) on the over run with no baffles in but will this lead to engine damage, burnt valves etc ... by riding without them .. ?

There doesn't seam any noticeable difference in back pressure, mid range pull or performance etc just a lot more pop/bang on over run ...

Opinions ... ? :)

I think you'll be fine-if taking the baffles out results in burnt out valves, I'd say it wasn't right anyway :!: ;)

I did wonder, loads here run with empty cans (tubers mainly) and dont seam to find any issues ..

I'm wondering if the fuelling in the ECU might need some adjusting or whether it will do it its self

I barely have a can on my bike and it rarely spits fire (ok it does when I give the biggun) but the rest of the time it behaves fine Ash. Mine is a trifle noisy though......

My Jardine RT-5 didn't come with a baffle?!

Hi Ash
I run my Remus with no baffles, but with a Buell race ECM no popping or banging on the overun.
It could run too lean with the standard ECM/fuelling as they err on the lean side.
use a fueller ie: remus poweriser or ecm spy.
Pash? Gunter?

Daywalker ran his XB on the dyno with a standard ECM and an O2 sensor up the exhaust, and his mixture was spot on (sure it was a mixture of the front and the rear and you don't really know if one was lean and one was rich). Oh yes, and his is a 9.

If Ash wants to check at Moorespeed, we can put the UKBEG XB12 headers on and use my dual wideband O2 sensors with ECMSpy for Mono.

Alternatively, when I get some time, I'll put a Remus on my Uly with the UKBEG XB12 headers and log some data. That will tell us what we want to know...
