Any ideas on other bikes to compare it against. At 7k ish it seems well spec'd and I'm sure there'll be a few bargains around this winter to make it more appealing in the bang-for-buck stakes. I commute 110 miles a day so any competition needs to cope with this factor. My 'bolt 9 is still going strong at 50k+ miles, but I had a go on the CR and WANT ONE ![]() ![]() Not interested in CBR's/GSXR's and the like - been there done that. Cheers, Newts |

Hmmm - Tuono is a possibility, have fancied them for a while. I think the Superduke is a bit too upright for bombing down the motorway for 30mins??? Maybe wrong. Might have to get out and ride a few demos - bummer ![]() The bolt has had 3 sets of wheel bearings (though I did ride a set to destruction!) and a set in the jockey wheel, it's on its 3rd belt (only one snapped, t'other was replaced cos I fancied it), and it's only had on set of headrace bearings (just the other day!!!) but they were well-fecked. A few minor niggles, but nothing expensive or that I couldn't sort out myself (and I'm a mechanical numpty). Dirt does a great job of keeping the crap out! ![]() |

Be interested in your view on the Tuono. It's certainly quick and beautifully made, and I loved mine (the earlier model, not the current one). But, after three years on assorted Buells, I had a day on the newer one last year and found it cumbersome and top-heavy. I wouldn't go back there now. The V4-Tuono will be a bit special, though. Also spent a day each on a Superduke, Superduke R, and 990 SM. (The joys of having a friend who owns a Guzzi, Aprillia, KTM dealership!) IMHO it was amazing just how superior the 990 SM is. The Dukes have snatchy fuelling and are even twitchier than a Lightning. The SM was the absolute business, though. Couldn't reallt fault it. The new SM-T is supposed to be even better, and more of an all-rounder. |

Get out of my head, RF! ![]() What he said, verbatim. ![]() (Other than I don't have a friend with a Euro bike dealership but I think I could make space for one in my address book) |

That's why I was laughing, chap. ![]() IMO, if you want power, buy rice, unless you have silly money and want to spend over 10g on a scoot. The 990 Duke may appear to be down on power but, if you want soul and character and aren't worried about the not-so-quickness, then get a ride on one of them against the 1125CR. I'd still go with the 990SM, though. ![]() |
