Anyone here done the XB9 primary gear conversion for XB12 - i.e. gear it down for better acceleration, slow speed control etc. Putting the lower gearing is common on tubers - but I have not heard it mentioned on UKBEG.

Also, I presume there are no alternative pulley teeth choices for XB's - unlike tubers.

cheers

It'll put extra torque through the gearbox. Are you prepared for that risk?

you jest, ho ho ho - very funny - take the piss outa the mentaly disabled why don't you. Mock the afflicted. Go on if it akes you feel big - kick walking stick away ;)

Anyway, I would of thought using the XB9 primary drive would reduce stresses on the g/box - pulling easier and with less torque.

Wheres someone with loads of experience of Buells or an mechanical engineer when you need one :?:

I ran with This for seven thousand miles or so on my 12s. Enjoyed it.

yep - exactly. But suppose Adam & Maz are referring to the cost hassle factor of repairing a XB g/box, whereas with a tuber it is much simpler.
