Wotcha All, My other half is a skinny 6 footer -bless her, and has a bit of trouble with her left kneee on extended journeys. She likens it to the feeling you get when "you've been crouching too long". Has anyone worked out a reliable way of dropping the pillion footpegs by an inch or two? -I was thinking of getting 4 blocks machined up to drop the peg struts with extended bolts. -Would this be ok, or would there be too much risk of snapping the mounting bolts? XB12R by the way.... Any ideas welcomed (apart from chopping her off at the knee....) Cheers in advance, Si. |

How old is your XB12R? I have a feeling that later bikes had longer pillion peg brackets, but of course I may be completely wrong!!! If that is the case try to get some later ones as lots of folks take them off to tidy up the lines at the rear of the bike...... |

Thanks for the reply, Its an 05/06 (on 06 plate) and I think they are quite long for a "sports" bike anyway. Anyone else comment on the newer 'Bolts? Are they longer? Cheers, Si. |

Here's a thought - if the front ( rider ) pegs can be made to fit to the passenger mount point then why not fit Lightning rider pegs, they have a 1 inch drop built in. That's the cheapest option if you can get them to fit, have a look here. OR a Uly's passenger pegs have also have a 1 inch drop built in, look here, they may fit, if you know anybody that has a Uly then you could ask to borrow one to see if it will fit, but this is a more expensive option. |

Orrrrrrrr just get a Uly At 6 foot with lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng legs I can vouch for the comfort on the back

Strap a beanbag to the seat, that will have the desired effect of raising her bum (ahem) by a good number of inches thus relieving the crouch

Buy a pair of roller blades or skates and let the good lady rest her feet on the road. How cool would that be for her to stand up as you approached a pub and she could swoop straight to the bar. ................Mines a pint of HSB please |

Hiya Pash, She does occasionally which slows the onset, but once its started, it's really difficult to fend off. I'd rather not have her flapping her legs around while moving, and if its something as simple as getting some new pegs.....  Si. |
