Had a rear engine mount fail will going down a straight bit of road on a xb12s at moderate speed. Engine fairing hit front wheel, then weaved violently then CRASH. |

As far as I know the mount had not been touched from new. The bike had done 16000km from new and had not been crashed up until this happened. Yea, if Burt was still alive I could give him the whole bike, time it came back it would be fixed and go some unreal speed as well. mind you some of the parts would look a little different. |

Is that the mount that fits to the rear of the gearbox ?????? can't really picture inmy mind how the XB's mount compared to the tubers. If so did it break the lugs on the main engine casting? I'd guess that it had probably come loose unnoticed before causing the failure. |

Yes, the mount bolts to the gearbox with 4 cap screws, all the screws were still tightly bolted to the broken remains, Some riders in USA have had the same problem. Possibly due to a flaw in the casting, then vibration would have done the rest. |
