Sorry if this is in the wrong section, im not so sure? Anwway, I have an 06 XB9SX and Micron pipes, does anyone have any experience of noise levels for these pipes, am I likely to fail most of the track side dB tests, my guess is it will, just wanting to hear if anyone else has experienced these pipes on track? Thanks Rob |

My Ti Force, which is MUCH quieter than your Micron is too loud for Castle Combe... |

My 05 XB9SX and Micron pipes was measured at 116dB which is far too loud for any track day. I contacted Micron before I went down to the ring last year to see if they made a dB killer for the exhaust but they don't, apparently if you try and reduce the noise the performance suffers quite badly. |

I doubt your Micron will pass anywhere to be honest. The downside of the system really. |

What track are you considering? I don't think that they all operate noise limits. Or maybe you could just get a standard can. |

Rotate the engine everytime you want to do a track day............nice. You could also wear slippers with the standard can then no-one would hear you |

Why don't you just fit a db killer for the track day? lot easier than swapping the exhaust! Think you'll be ok at the ring though, just don't rev it hard in the car park & dont really give it some at start! |

I'll swap my remus and standard headers for your Micron? Sure the remus would pass with the baffles in. |

Not sure what track yet, possibly Oulton, I've done it many a time in the car before and should be a good day on the bike, I havent booked anything as of yet as I was unsure about the noise limits and the micron. I have the original can and headers but like you say its a pain to remove and put back on just for the track day, plus I LOVE the sound of the Micron would be a shame to subdue it I suppose I could change the original one back and use it as a chance to get the Micron cam coated. I'm still not 100% sure about the track day yet, only passed my bike test in Oct and im not exactly a quick rider so not sure if im ready to do a track on the bike yet, but it tempting me at the mo. Im guessing im going ot have problems come MOT time also with the micron, im guessing they test for excessive noise? |

Ask other bikers in your area with noisy bikes for a recommendation.Plenty of MOT places still don't worry too much about a loudish bike. Thats likely to change in 2010 though so I believe (or dreamt |
