at £4999 a new 1125r is too good to miss (IMHO) so a white one is joining the firebolt when i return from overseas...... the deposit went down today.  short trip to Tubbs for a little lore growl and some plastic welding and paint.. i shall have a big brother for my single eye orange bolt  you guys that have purchased new, did you follow the run in as stated or go http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm route? riders in bristol  could have got a CR for slighty less!! very tempting, just got a bonus overseas, being posted away for so long means no uk tax so thought why notdont worry they'll not touch it again.... had bad experience with them before.... it will be tubbs all the way... wkd1 |

Interesting I believe the closest Pash could get them to that a few weeks ago was £7500 amazing what the factory closure has done for the values of the bikes eh. |

4.5k bloody hell!!! i thought that i had a good deal? dam you pash  at that price it worth having one for spares isnt it? at least when bits break, rust, or fall off you will still be mobile..... wkd1 |

I was told to follow the manual as the instrument cluster will tell if I have caned the bike before the first service. |

I know it's not the same make of bike but when the Triumph blew up I was concerned that they would be able to check the bikes riding history as I had taken it slightly over what I should've. Loads of people told me they wouldn't but when I was having a chat with the mechanic he let slip that they'd been able to check my top speed and revs and they were within what they would expect for a bike of that mileage, maybe a little over. They can tell. |

If you follow the book for the first 600 miles you'll do no harm but remember the book is written for people with no understanding or mechanical sympathy. Use your common sense, use the gearbox and don't 'lug' the motor. The motor is extremely tight and doesn't fully run in for the first 4-5K miles. It gets noticably better at this kind of mileage. I've thrashed motors from new but these have been built for off road stuff and have been built with big tolerances - they also get stripped frequently. 'A tight engine is a slow engine' It's your motor and everyone has an opinion
