You youngsters :old: That's the XLCR1000 you mean. The XR1000 was a street version of the XR750 and equally horny.
I had the pleasure of using a stunning XLCR for the weekend back in the early '80s. It had apparently been the young John Warr's bike and was painted in H-D racing colours. It was everything I had wanted it to be and it made me feel like a million dollars even after having to be bump started leaving a party because of dodgy contacts on the starter button. :D

Yep the original was a good attempt by HD all those years back, I followed one in Wales once, sounded great and looked good.

Before I bought the XB I was looking for an XR100. Never did find one though.

Yep, but it looks quite easy to do to an XR; bars, screen, some black paint and decals? Could catch on! 8-)

Oops ! :oooops: Ursus is bang on - should have said XLCR. And Steve, I may be older than you so it may have been the dementia kicking in ...

Remember when they came out as a new model - never was a big fan then, but I've grown to appreciate it over the years.

Was offered an original one for £3k about 10 years ago - absolutely gutted that I couldn't raise the money at the time. :( :( :(

I've got a photo somewhere (circa 1982) of an original XLCR fitted with Nitrous.
It was parked up at Laxey during TT week.

I like everything that Mecatwin do. Great company. 8-)

when can't they just do it so it looks like the 750 flat tracker ... it's just a designe exercise. But as design exercises go, it would work well ....

ps S2 to S1 to M2 - it was also just a design exercise .....
