Post subject:  X1 Silencer woes.

Can any member suggest what might be the best silencer to fit to my 2000 X1 Millenium, the Supertrapp I had on it disintegrated its self and its mounts last week on a German autobahn, and also snapped on of the header studs flush with the head on the front cylinder, is there a quick fix for this exhaust stud ? or is it head removal time ?
Thanks in advance,
Clive.

1, Buell race system

There is a number 3, Redline race pipe, much better construction than 1 and 2.
I found you are constantly repairing cracks+splits on front+rear mounts with options 1 and 2.
No problems after heavy prolonged testing of redline pipe, ( V+H was scrap in less than 3000miles ).

I thought Redline went out of business some years ago, Phil. Are they back?
I had one on my M2 for years... louder than Buell's race can and apparently good flow... needed repacking annually though.
It's still usable, just not that pretty any more (Ally outer skin has corroded) but no brackets ever broke, nothing cracked.

Rik, I bought it off e-bay, do'nt know anything about the company, bad news if they went under, (everyone should have one)

Redline did go under a couple of years ago. I found out when I tried to get my headers fixed. Got hit from behind and ended up with bent headers. As for the broken stud Jims make a guide that fits into the port and the other stud. Works well.
Don't try ANY easyouts they're a sure way to needing spark erroding.
