I am thinking of getting a Corbin seat for my S1, what is the general opinion on them, I bought one for a Harley I had a few years ago and it cost me over £600 and wasn't that comfortable, so is the Buell one worth the expense as you know the original is a bit lacking in the padding dept, and am I best getting it from Corbin. |

Certainly a comfier option than the original, but still a small seat! I got mine direct from Corbin but was able to get it delivered in the US to a mate and pick up on a work trip, so didn't have excess postage or tax/VAT added on arrival to the UK Still follow the DaveH 'cycling short' guidance if travelling a long way!

Paid silly money for mine so many years ago it’s not true. Certainly more comfortable than either the standard S1 seat and way more comfortable than Buell’s ‘Euro’ (? - as fitted to Strikes/Whites) which I find worse than standard. So better, but just less-pain, not more-comfort really. It’s a firm old beast. However mine wore through on the side in less that 5K miles, as the seam folded down onto itself when being ridden. Wrote to Corbin and seemed to get a reply from Mike Corbin himself which basically said “tough tits” and offered to recover it if I paid. Given that it cost a wallet-blistering fortune, it still angers and disappoints me. I can’t help but think that tracking down a base/seat (which could take a long time, I know) and having a UK specialist make something better is a far better idea. Unless you can get a Corbin really cheap, I’d turn it into a project and get something that’s genuinely better, comfort and quality. 2p |

I might contact Bob the seat and see if he could make one using mine as sugested then get it covered with a gel pad or something .Would there be a demand if someone was to design a custom one? |

I’ve got a Corbin on all my tubers, far more comfy than the standard seats. Where are you located? You are welcome to try one of mine (or even get it copied). All mine have been recovered, the standard covers didn’t last long. |

Im a bit far away I am in Glasgow I may go for the Corbin it has got to be more comfortable than the standard, if I was getting a copy made Im sure I could use my original for a template , there is a boy in Glasgow that used to work for House of Custom that makes seats I may have a word with him. |

My corbin is great, can do decent miles on it and its miles more comfortable than the standard seat I had gel inserts fitted to which is weird as the standard with gel was softer and the corbin is rock hard. Andy |
