Well I've tried to love her but I don't think it's the bike for me . I am not in a position to post a proper ad in the proper section at the moment but if anyone is genuinely interested in a really fantastic example of a S1 lightning in black which is absolutely a spot in honest example the pls PM me and I'll get back with my tel for a chat and talk you through the details etc ..
Genuine enquirers only pls
Bike is situated in Hinckley

In my opinion you have not given the S1 enough time to grow on you, every time I take mine out I think it's horrible for the first few miles then it all comes together and I get in tune with it's way. Hang on to it for a season at least.

These bikes aren’t for everyone but I love mine... Good luck with the sale and hope you find something more to your taste...

Nice clean unmolested bike should sell :yup: , I dare say others will say it will need a rear shock and the front disc sorting to latest spec etc. etc. but as a sunny day ride once in a while fine as is :yup:

Barney good point, apparently the exhaust and the engine mounts are just itching to fail as well 😂

I can't say it's an issue being a chap who has owned a Lotus esprit and 3 x Elise, now that is adventurous motoring lol😁😁

What exactly didn't you like about it ?. The handling, not fast enough, didn't stop quick enough ? They're not jap bikes and many middle weight jap bikes will show it a clean pair of heels. I love mine that much I'm going to be buried with it ready for the after life :hehe:

I've been spoilt with modern bikes but yep you did sum up its weakness quite accurately, I'm going to give her another try, in fact I'm out early tomorrow for the day as the weather looks good!
I do love her looks and the concept and people always compliment me on her so let's say the jury is out and we may get a change of heart if I persevere

How far do you ride it on one day. You need to ride these things at least 50 miles at a time in my book so that the engine gets into it’s stride! ;)

Whatever, if l had the money l would have it parked in my lounge just have and to look at. 8-)

Never ridden the S1 but M2 and X1 are the two bikes I would never part with.
Persevere with it a while before you ditch it
