Has anyone got any dos or don't's regarding fitting a Datatag kit to a Tuber?
It's a first for me and I want to maximise the benefit by fitting the little critters in the 'best' locations.
I've not yet refitted the primary and timing covers so there is the opportunity to epoxy a transponder inside... good or bad idea? ...what's your opinion Maz?
PM me if you don't want to give away where you hid yours!
Thanks.

I had to wear mine round my fuckin ankle....
IF you can put them in the primary/timing covers, that would be a great place 8-)

One araldited into the head tube opposite side of the steering lock. One araldited behind the timing cover and one injected into the seat foam even if you have to hope saw a small hole out of the base.

I wouldn't risk putting them anywhere inside the motor.

Thanks, Maz. I was uneasy about it myself, but the Datatag guy I spoke to at the NEC told me it was what was intended... I'll see if I can find an unobtrusive external nook somewhere.

I'd heard that the majority of new bikes come with it already 'fitted', Adam, which is what is helping to frustrate the trade in stolen parts. So it works, but how exactly does it protect your property from 'the shelf'? Is it armed? ;)
I think there could be an element of Chinese whispers (am I allowed to say that... just did!) ...ie salesman was told that they/ the adhesive is 'oil resistant' and that infers it can be 'put in the oil'....?

Have to confess almost zero knowledge of this device. But if you want to hide it on the engine and it is very small, how about drill a small hole in a part that isn't usually visible. Drop the thing into said small hole. Fill hole with epoxy. Is that a sensible option?
